A correct formula can still be the wrong document. This page is about when a calculated percentage is usable and when only the exam branch can speak.
Can I print this result and attach it to a job application?
You can print the result, including the source URL and caveat. Many employers and universities still want the conversion certificate or the percentage printed on the official transcript. FormulaCGPA is a cited working copy, not a registrar’s letter.
WES, IQAS or a foreign university asked for a percentage.
Use the formula your awarding university published, then follow the evaluator’s form. GTU and several others sell an official percentage conversion certificate. If your institute says it does not convert CGPA, write that and attach the grade card.
My marksheet already prints a percentage.

I have SGPA for one semester and need a percentage.
Most official conversions speak of final CGPA or CGPI, not a single-semester SGPA. Converting one SGPA is unofficial unless your circular says otherwise.
GATE, UPSC or a PSU form asks for percentage and my university uses CGPA.
Read the form’s own instruction first. Some accept CGPA as-is, some ask for the university conversion, some ask for a certificate. If the form is silent, use the official scheme on your grade card and keep the circular PDF.
I studied at an autonomous college affiliated to VTU, JNTUH or Mumbai.
Affiliation usually means the university regulation applies. Autonomous colleges sometimes publish extra notes. If the extra note conflicts with the university PDF, ask the exam cell which document the transcript follows.
