BIT Bangalore is a VTU-affiliated college. Its published R5 rules PDF is the VTU 2021 academic regulation set. Clause 21OB13.2 is unusually honest: it first says there is no conversion formula, then permits M = CGPA × 10 for jobs and higher studies.

Reverse: CGPA = Percentage ÷ 10
BIT Bangalore is affiliated to VTU. Clause 21OB13.2 first says there is no formula for converting CGPA into percentage, then permits M = CGPA × 10 for employment and higher studies. This is not a claim that CGPA equals actual marks. Older VTU schemes use (CGPA − 0.75) × 10 instead.

There is no formula for the conversion of CGPA into the percentage of marks. However, the following formula for conversion of the CGPA on a 10-point scale into the percentage of marks (M) for employment / higher studies, etc may be used; Percentage of marks secured, M = CGPA Earned x 10. Illustration for a CGPA of 8.20; Percentage of marks secured M = 8.20 × 10 = 82.0%.
What this page will not do
The official illustration is CGPA 8.20 → 82.0%. Under the older VTU schemes the same CGPA becomes 74.5%. That single gap is why FormulaCGPA forces a scheme pick.
This page will not treat BIT as an autonomous university with its own secret multiplier, and it will not use the 2015–2018 VTU offset on an R5 transcript.
