GTU published the CPI/CGPA equivalency in Notification 1 of 2012. The equation is Percentage Marks = (CPI/CGPA − 0.5) × 10. The same notice maps class: below 5.5 pass, 5.5 second, 6.5 first, 7.1 distinction.

GTU awards class from CPI/CGPA bands (pass / second / first / distinction) in the same notification. For courses longer than two years, the degree CGPA is based on the last four semesters. Request a CGPA/CPI percentage conversion certificate from GTU Student Support when an authority needs an attested figure.
