KTU is a formula-change case. B.Tech. 2019 regulation R6.21 originally said equivalent percentage = 10 × CGPA − 2.5. U.O. No. 1584/2023/KTU dated 29 June 2023 amended that to CGPA × 10 after students showed the constant was hurting competitive-exam cut-offs.

Reverse: CGPA = Percentage ÷ 10
Before June 2023, B.Tech. 2019 regulation R6.21 used 10 × CGPA − 2.5. U.O. No. 1584/2023/KTU amended that to CGPA × 10. U.O. No. 1867/2023/KTU applied the same to B.Tech. 2015 and to graduated students on request. Do not use the withdrawn −2.5 constant unless an authority expressly asks for the pre-amendment regulation text.

Currently, University uses the formula as in the Regulation for B.Tech, 2019, R6.21: Equivalent percentage mark shall be = 10 * CGPA – 2.5. The 23rd Academic Council resolved to amend the 2019 Scheme as % marks = CGPA * 10. Sanction accorded to implement: Equivalent percentage of mark shall be = 10 * CGPA.
What this page will not do
U.O. No. 1867/2023/KTU extended CGPA × 10 to B.Tech. 2015 and to already graduated students on request. Later syndicate item S-051-011 (U.O. 3078/2023/KTU) is widely reported as extending the same equation to all UG/PG schemes.
