Mumbai is the reason FormulaCGPA exists. The university published two different 10-point conversions, told students the result is approximate, and told 7-point CBGS students to use actual marks. A generic × 9.5 or × 10 calculator is the wrong tool here.

10-point CBCS (2017 circular)

Percentage (%) = 7.1 × CGPA + 11
Reverse: CGPA = (Percentage − 11) ÷ 7.1
The circular states that CGPA is a weighted average and cannot be related to actual marks scientifically. The formula is an approximate representation. The calculated percentage is rounded to the next full integer. For the 7-point CBGS system, percentage must be calculated from actual marks — this formula must not be used.

For the 10 Point Grading System (CBCS), the formula for calculating the percentage is given by: Percentage (%) = 7.1 * CGPA + 11. The percentage can be calculated using above formula and rounded to next full integer.
10-point CBCS / CGPI (2018 circular)
Graduate and postgraduate Choice Based courses commencing from academic year 2016–17 · Regulation / scheme year: 2018
Percentage (%) = 7.25 × CGPI + 11
Reverse: CGPI = (Percentage − 11) ÷ 7.25
This 2018 circular uses CGPI, not CGPA, and a 7.25 multiplier. It applies to Choice Based graduate and postgraduate courses from 2016–17. The 7-point CBGS system still uses actual marks. Confirm which circular your marksheet or college exam section cites before submitting an application.

What this page will not do
The 19 June 2017 circular (Exam/Result) gives Percentage (%) = 7.1 × CGPA + 11 for the 10-point CBCS system and says the percentage is rounded to the next full integer.
The 2018 circular (Exam/Com/97 of 2018) changes the variable to CGPI and the multiplier to 7.25 for Choice Based graduate and postgraduate courses from 2016–17.
Some later websites claim a 2026 repeal that replaces the formula with college-computed actual marks. FormulaCGPA has verified the 2017 and 2018 PDFs on old.mu.ac.in. We have not independently verified a 2026 repeal PDF on this audit, so we do not hide the 2017/2018 formulas and we do not pretend they are repealed.
This page will not convert 7-point CBGS transcripts with either formula.
