Reverse: CGPA = Percentage ÷ 8.9
Architecture and some professional patterns have separate circulars. Circular 193/2021 corrects grade-to-percentage tables for B.Arch and M.Arch — do not use 8.9 for those programmes. The official class table maps 7.42 CGPA to 66% (first class with distinction).

7.42 × 8.9 = 66.038. The class table’s “66%” is prose rounding of that official product, not a second formula.
